All our animals would like you to celebrate your birthday with all your friends and family at the ANIMAL FARM YARD – BOTHA’S HILL

We have various birthday options available and you may select the option that you most suitable to you.

Option 1 – Mum caters for children

Entrance per child R15.00 This Includes

• Designated party area with tables and chairs under a Thatched lapa or outside Intingu lapa.(Morning 9.30am- 12.00 Afternoon 1.30pm to4.00)

• Use of jungle gym, swings and slides.

• Milking demonstration at 10.30am and 3.30pm.

• A packet of animal food per child.

• One pony or tractor ride for each child. (Extra rides ie pony, tractor or foofy slide rides R3 each. )
Option 2 – Tea garden caters for children

Entrance plus eats R35.00 per child. This Includes-

• Designated party area for morning of afternoon time slot.

• Use of jungle gym, swings and slides.

• Packet of animal food for each child.

• One pony or tractor ride for each child.

• Milking demonstration.

• An assortment of party treats.

1. These are guidelines and you may customize the options to suit your requirements.
2. A deposit of R100.00 is required for use of the Lapa on confirmation of your booking.
3. Final numbers of guests to be confirmed the day before the party.
4. Catering requirements to be confirmed the week before the party and full payment to be made on this confirmation.
5. List of all guests names to be given to John, at the gatehouse, on arrival.
6. If you are not paying adults entry they will be charged at the gatehouse and normal rates will apply.
7. Balance of payment to be made on arrival at the Tea Garden kiosk.
8. You may decorate with balloons etc. as you please.

PARTY PROCEDURE
On arrival please give your list of names to John at the Gatehouse so that he may tick names off and allow guests through.  Payment to be made at the top kiosk.  (Note if you are not paying for the adults please inform guest so they may be prepared.)

Once your guests have arrived you may give each child their animal feed  and start your  meander through the farm so they may feed and pet the animals. The sheep, goats and donkey nibble out their hands but please don’t allow the children to feed the pigs as their little fingers will get bitten.

Morning Party
The milking demo is at 10.30am so try to take the children  to the milking parlour at that time so they do not miss it.  Ask John where it is and to call you if necessary.
Thereafter  Joseph and John will do the pony ride (and tractor ride if ordered.)  Should you require the rides to be done earlier just ask the staff.

Afternoon Party
After seeing the animals tell Joseph or John you are ready for your pony ride (thereafter tractor ride if ordered) and then you may finish off with the milking demo at 3.30pm.

IMPORTANT

  1. There are little benches for the children to sit on while waiting for their pony ride and a mounting block for them to stand on when it is their turn.  Please use these.
  2. Please be careful not to allow anyone to stand behind any of the horses as they can, although tame, unexpectedly kick.
  3. There are toilets near the Blue Tractor and more at the top behind the thatched tea garden room.
  4. The party procedures are guidelines.  You may structure it as you please.

SCHOOL OUTING

Dear Teachers,
We would like to offer you our CHILDREN’S ANIMAL TOUCH FARM as an excursion option perhaps to tie in with a theme or as a treat for your class. We took over the farm in October 2003 and have been upgrading so we can offer the children an enjoyable and informative outing. A worksheet is available if required and we are open to requests for the needs of your group.
Our selection of animals is as follows :
Various chicken and ducks, geese, turkeys, rabbits, tortoise, guinea fowl, donkey, pony, miniature horse, horse, sheep, pigs, goats, jerseycows, nguni and afrikander cattle etc.
Our fee is R10.00 per child which includes :
- Tour of the animal and watch the cow being milked.
- A packet of animal feed so they may feed and touch the animals.
- Pony or tractor ride.
- Picnic area + Playground with jungle gym, swings and slides. There is a tuck shop if required for ice- creams, cool drinks, chips and sweets. Cooked food eg. Hotdogs, hamburgers or own requests must be ordered in advance.

There is no charge for teachers and treat is free tea or coffee with a muffin or scone. Entrance for parents is R7.50. Additional rides are R2.00 as required. School group times between 9.00am and 1pm.
